Associate – Technology Transactions, San Francisco, CA

Solutus Legal has been exclusively retained by our client, Smithline PC, to conduct a search for an excellent junior to mid-level attorney to join their unique technology transactions practice.

Fifteen years ago the Smithline team set out to create a law firm that operates differently: support a wide range of technology companies with a single, integrated team in downtown San Francisco; be outside counsel, but know their clients’ businesses well enough to operate just like a lawyer down the hall; charge for the value of the service they provide, not the time they spend providing it; and be on the leading edge of Internet, SaaS, software, mobile, device and video game deals. Today, they have just that firm and are looking to add another associate to their team.

Smithline seeks to hire an attorney with 2-5 years of law firm or in-house experience. Our client is willing to consider a stand-out corporate, real estate or other transactional attorney who is seeking to retool their practice and is dedicated to learning technology transactions and intellectual property law. The successful candidate will have top academic credentials, exceptional written and oral communication skills, and a love for their mobile phone, tablet or gaming device.

  • What makes our client unique?
  • Amazing clients. Amazing work.
  • Team-based representations.
  • Top notch training and practice resources (both internally and for clients).
  • Subscription based fee structure.
  • No tracking time. Efficiency is the mark of excellence.
  • Reasonable hours with no weekends.
  • Three weeks vacation – mandatory and unplugged.
  • Friendly and happy culture, great founder.
  • Competitive compensation.

While not your traditional “in house” position, this is an amazing opportunity for the lawyer who wants to work on the most cutting edge technology deals for great clients and with bright colleagues. In addition, the firm truly enables a balanced life. Compensation is competitive.

Solutus has been retained as the exclusive representative for this search. Interested candidates please submit your resume and indication of interest to search@solutuslegal.com. All resumes sent to our client will be forwarded to Solutus for consideration. Local candidates only.
