Our client, a highly successful, publicly traded medical device company, seeks to hire an experienced Deputy General Counsel for its in-house legal team.  This is a phenomenal opportunity to play a high-visibility, leadership role in a company that is transforming the treatment of patients with complex medical challenges.

The DGC will report directly to the General Counsel, and work closely with the EU Deputy General Counsel.  The DGC will be responsible for managing a global commercial legal team and advising the General Counsel on a wide range of legal matters such as employment, regulatory, and compliance.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of legal experience in general business law and commercial transactions.  The candidate must have strong experience in managing teams of lawyers and legal professionals and advising on a variety of legal matters.  The successful candidate will possess superior leadership, negotiating, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.  Experience in the life sciences, biotechnology, or medical device field is preferred, but not required.

Target compensation is $295,000 base with a 25% bonus and equity.  Compensation will vary and depend on the candidate’s level of seniority and relevant experience.  There is room for advancement and increased responsibility.   As a top executive in the organization, this attorney will be required to work in the office part of the week.  Office headquarters are in Santa Clara and there is flexibility on in-office schedule.
