Vice President, Legal

Our client, a thriving pre-public technology software company is seeking to hire a Vice President, Legal to serve as the head of the legal department. This legal executive will report directly to the CFO and will manage a team of six professionals. This role is located in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The ideal candidate will have at least 12 years of experience with a combination of law firm and in-house experience, including experience in a high growth environment at technology company with international offices. Experience with SaaS is highly desired. Substantively, the Vice President, Legal will have a proven background in a wide range of areas including general corporate, corporate governance, litigation, privacy, commercial transactions, risk management, regulatory and government policy. They will serve as a hands-on business partner with the ability to think strategically and work diligently in an ever-changing global environment. Experience managing a team of professionals is required.

Interpersonally, this attorney will possess superior communication skills. S/he will be a hard worker, responsive, proactive, team player, critical thinker, intellectually curious and a problem solver. S/he will thrive in a high growth environment and have passion for innovation and building things. This legal executive will have superb business acumen with a focus on collaborating with internal partners to drive business forward.

Targeted base compensation for the qualified candidate is $325,000 – $375,000 plus target bonus and a stock grant.
